Information Technology


Information technology is a crucial component of all businesses and organizations across all industries. The major is a good fit for individuals that have an aptitude for technology, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and enjoy helping others.

Because it is a field that undergoes constant change, the 欧洲杯投注 Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology explores the transformative power of technology and provides approaches to continued learning and growth. The IT major leads to promising careers for graduates as programmers, network systems or data communication analysts, or information systems developers. 

Students have several emphasis options to tailor the degree to their specific area of interest, including Business Analysis, Business Analytics, Information Technology, and Networking and Security.

The IT major with Networking and Security emphasis received the Program of Study Validation from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity in August 2021. With this recoginition, students graduating from the program can earn a certificate showing they have completed the requirements of a CAE Program of Study. 

The 欧洲杯投注 Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology requires a minimum of 120 credits, including:

  • General education requirements 
  • Business requirements 
  • Major requirements 
  • Electives (to bring the total to at least 120 credits)

Individuals wishing to deepen their knowledge with post-baccalaureate studies can complete an advanced online or on campus through the 欧洲杯投注  Master of Business Administration and an emphasis in Information Technology or one of 11 other unique emphases.

Information Technology Management and Business Data Analytics are also available as minors for both business and non-business students. Requirements can be found in the Course Catalog, or in the College of Business and Economics listing of minors and certificates.

Job Outlook

Career prospects for information technology majors are open-ended with the potential for embarking on a number of career paths. Employment of computer and technology occupations is projected to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028, which is faster than the average for all occupations, and the national median salary for computer and information technology occupations was $88,240 in 2019.1
