Admission Requirements
To ensure a high quality graduate student group, all MS in Communication students must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution and meet graduate admission criteria.
If you do not meet the graduate admission criteria, please email us to determine if you could be admitted on a conditional basis.
International students must meet additional criteria and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for information and assistance.
In addition, candidates must include a 2-3 page written statement of goals outlining their reasons for selecting a program of study in Communication. Two letters of recommendation also must accompany the application. These letters should come from individuals in a position to judge the applicant’s potential for graduate learning; letters from former instructors are highly recommended.
Delivery
All courses will be offered online as either 6-week summer courses or 8-week spring or fall courses.
Each fall and spring semester, there will be one or two courses offered in the first 8-week term and one or two courses offered in the second 8-week term, allowing for 3-4 graduate courses per fall or spring term.
Each summer, there will be one course offered during the first 6-week term and one course offered in the second 6-week term.
Thus, depending on offerings, a student can complete the full master’s degree in as little as 18 months, and a certificate can be completed in 4-6 months.
