Warhawk Pantry

Warhawk Food Pantry

The 欧洲杯投注 Warhawk Pantry was established in 2018 to provide a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for students and others to obtain food, toiletries, school supplies, and information about other resources available to them.

The pantry is staffed by a pantry coordinator, student assistant, and volunteers. A steering team of faculty, staff, and students researched and planned for the pantry and are responsible for its oversight, including representatives from Student Affairs, the University Center, Sustainability Office, the Department of Social Work, and other areas concerned with student success.

It’s for the campus community. Primarily students, but faculty and staff are welcome to use it. The experience of other campus pantries suggests mostly students will use it.

The Warhawk Pantry is located in Drumlin Dining Hall, room 143 or entrance 2 next to the loading dock.

1010 W Starin Rd, Whitewater, WI 53190

The Warhawk Pantry is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30-5:30 pm and Fridays from 12:30-3:30 pm during fall and spring semesters. The pantry is available at other times, such as summer or on other days of the week, by appointment.

The pantry currently offers:

  • A variety of nonperishable foods, including gluten free and vegan items
  • Toiletries and personal care items like toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, and shampoo.
  • Household items like laundry pods, paper napkins, and toilet paper
  • School supplies such as pens, pencils, highlighters, folders, post-it notes, and flashcards

We ask patrons to limit their visits to once per week unless there is an emergency. Items are arranged shopping style, so people select what they’d like within certain limits. Other than that there is no limit in terms of points or pounds, etc.

All that the pantry offers is provided through donations. We work with Feeding America, a food bank based in Milwaukee, and purchase food for pennies on the dollar. We also accept donated food and other items.

No. We don’t do any type of means testing or ask students to declare their income as part of our process. We just ask a few questions about whether they live on or off campus and whether they have dependents at home. We collect that information as part of our agreement with the food bank that supplies us and also to better understand who we are serving. Please try to bring your HawkCard with you to help us keep track of usage.
